What the result means
Goods (tax-inclusive unit price × quantity) + modeled service/payment/packing fees + domestic transport + international transport + insurance + supplied extra fees + modeled destination charges. Supported estimates include modeled shipping and destination charges. Missing charges are labelled and excluded; no result is a delivered quote.
Estimated savings and confirmed inputs
Basic inputs can produce estimated savings without completing advanced options. Savings equal your local purchase price minus the modeled import range. Use a local price including tax and delivery. If the range crosses your local price, the result shows possible savings and possible extra cost. Unquoted extra fees are assumed zero and explicitly excluded. Unsupported duty produces a partial price difference and remaining budget, not net savings. Missing shipping or flagged restrictions suppress recommendations. Estimates rank by their upper total; overlapping ranges do not establish a definite winner. Confirmed-input comparisons are shown separately.
Shipping and packing
Japan Post AIR PACKET and EMS rates are published benchmarks, not proof that a proxy offers a method. EMS limits are destination-specific. Courier prices require a supplied quote. Estimated dimensions are rough volume assumptions; multiple units require real packed measurements or a quote. Restrictions still require provider confirmation.
Taxes and ranges
Tax is recalculated at each shipping-range endpoint. Supported U.S. toy/game-card categories show a conditional Japanese-manufacture duty scenario using the July 2026 notice. Unknown origin is explicitly an assumption, not inferred from the shop. Other classifications or origins may remain partial. Great Britain and Northern Ireland are distinguished. Canadian book eligibility requires confirmation. Australian uncertain GST spans alternative scenarios, not an expected midpoint liability. Canada and Australia have limited Chapter 95 defaults; broad categories and preferential eligibility can require a quote. Customs valuation, classifications and official exchange rates can differ from these planning inputs.
Fees and confidence
Exact means a supplied value or published component under the chosen assumptions, not a guaranteed final invoice. Estimate, range and unknown labels remain visible. Unequal listings require per-listing totals for capped percentage fees. Service tier, payment method, origin and seller tax must be checked against official sources.
Exchange rates and sharing
Daily reference rates use a cache accepted for up to seven days, then labelled planning fallback rates. Arriving live rates update an existing calculation. A shared link preserves the last calculated inputs, adjustments, restrictions, model version and FX snapshot; it does not silently use edited, uncalculated fields.
Coverage and sources by destination
Great Britain: VAT and the £135 duty threshold; above-threshold product duty requires a verified rate when unavailable. Northern Ireland remains separate. Canada: provincial taxes and eligible C$20 remission; limited MFN Chapter 95 defaults, with book rules handled separately. Australia: low-value GST scenarios and supported Chapter 95 duty above A$1,000. U.S.: conditional Japanese-origin scenarios for ordinary game cards and toys/models. These are reviewed static rules, not a live customs-rate feed. Source review: October 9, 2026; package revised October 11, 2026.
Sources and maintenance
Model revised October 9, 2026. Postal table amounts were compared against Japan Post; linked fee/tax sources inform the model but must be checked for the actual purchase date. Each result links its proxy and tax references. Updates require regression checks, not just changing a review badge.

Editorial approach and corrections
LandedCheck publishes these guides under its own name. A publication or update date refers to an actual content revision; it does not mean every external fee is continuously monitored. Provider and government links support factual rules. Worked examples are explicitly illustrative, and their exchange rates, quotes and allowances are not live offers.
We do not claim personal testing without evidence, assign service-quality scores from a fee table, or use an affiliate payment to change calculator ranking. Readers can report changed terms through the contact form. A correction should identify the affected page, source and effective date. Changes to calculation rules require appropriate checks; an editorial date alone does not update the model.
Review priorities
Before relying on a comparison, check current shipping acceptance, marketplace fee changes, import-rule effective dates and the actual payment conversion. Country guides explain the questions to resolve; tariff lookup links do not establish classification for a specific product.
