Set your maximum bid from a delivered budget
Work backwards from your local comparable price. Deduct an allowance for proxy fees, seller delivery, international transport, payment and import charges before deciding a bid limit. An auction price is only the goods component; shipping uncertainty should reduce how much you are comfortable bidding.

With an assumed ¥25,000 total budget and ¥8,000 reserved for all other costs, the maximum goods bid is ¥17,000. If an unknown domestic delivery cost may add ¥2,000, a cautious goods limit is ¥15,000 instead.

- Check seller location and delivery terms, especially for oversized items.
- Translate untested, junk and parts-only condition descriptions.
- Verify cancellation rules and whether the proxy can request the information you need before bidding.
